Why is my retinol night cream turning yellow?
Lepique Retinol Night Cream is made with pure retinol, and pure retinol is naturally yellow. Over time the cream can take on a warmer, more yellow tone. This color change comes from the retinol itself and does not change how the cream performs.
Color is a sign of real retinol
Retinol is a yellow ingredient by nature, and it gradually deepens in tone as it meets light and air. Because Lepique uses pure retinol at 0.1%, the cream can shift from its original shade toward yellow over the life of the jar.
What the change means
The shift in color is visual. It does not change the performance of the product, so you can keep using it as part of your nighttime routine.
Keeping the cream at its best
- Close the lid after each use.
- Use the included spatula instead of your fingers.
- Store it away from heat and direct sunlight.
- Use it within the period shown on the pack.
Questions
- Can I still use my night cream if it has turned yellow?
- Yes. The color comes from the pure retinol and does not affect how the product performs.
- Why does the surface look more yellow than the cream underneath?
- The surface is the part that meets air and light first, so it usually shows the color change first.
Follow the directions and precautions on the pack. Patch test before first use.
